Splendide 2100XC Full Review

After using the Splendide 2100XC for a full year we give our opinion on the performance of this Washer/Dryer Combo and some helpful tips to getting the most out of it. Is it the best choice for a tiny house or RV?

The one main issue we had with this machine was when the internal exhaust tube became clogged with lint. The issue wasn’t too hard to fix and if it happens again we will be able to remedy it lot easier the second time now that we know what to do. The lint clog may be preventable with a different exhaust vent on the outer wall. We believe the reason for the backup was a combination of  condensation and cold temperatures causing the exhaust flap to stick shut. Other than that, we haven’t really had any major problems with the 2100XC. Here you can watch me Fixing the Splendide Washer/Dryer Combo.

For a machine that is the size of a dishwasher it performs quite well and is fairly easy on our water use at 9-16 gallons per wash. It also only uses 11 Amps 120AC power. We even considered putting it under the counter in the kitchen for awhile but decided we had more space to spare in the bathroom and having dirty undies in the kitchen was a bit weird.

The final verdict is that the Splendide 2100XC performs quite well for it’s price and size, and since it was made for RV use you don’t have to worry about it breaking as you drive down the road. We give it a B+ rating (and I’m stingy on giving high ratings, even on my wife’s cooking!)

  1. I’m having a total opposite experience with my Splendide unit. I purchased this unit a little over a year ago, maybe 20 days over a year. The warranty they offer on such high dollar unit is a poor 1-year warranty. Over the year of ownership I have experienced severe vibration during the spin cycle with very lite laundry load (under 3 lbs). I just recently noticed I had some drips coming from underneath the unit and causing a puddle on the wooden floor RV floor. I contacted Splendide concerning the issue, they advised me to take it to one of the nearby service centers which was 90 mins away from me. I hassled to get the heavy unit removed from the Coach closest and onto the truck bed. Days after I dropped it off at the service center I was told that my unit has freeze damage in multiple areas and likely the manufacture will not cover. Mind you that I am in southern part of the United States and a full timer camper, therefore I’m always utilizing the central climate unit in a claimed to be weather shielded coach.

I find this unit to be of poor build quality and poor realibilty. I am currently waiting on how much I will have to come out the pocket to get this unit fixed. I am sure to get rid of it to someone that’s a fan of Splendide and go with another brand that has better build and performance quality. I can’t believe I have experienced such a headache with this unit in a year’s time. I’ll give it an ” F” minus rating.

      Hi Anthony,

That sounds horrible. Maybe you got a dud? Or maybe we just got lucky and ours is more reliable then the average machine? I can’t say because I only have the experience of our one machine.

I have only had the issue of the clogged vent at the back of the machine. Other then that it has worked well. We have been using it for over two years now.
